Revolution is a Vibe by Marco McWilliams
This talk will explore the ways in which we might understand Black Studies as a theoretically grounded critical approach toward social change. Using examples from the Black Radical Tradition and my own life this talk will invite participants to examine history and their role in it as freedom dreamers.

Marco A. McWilliams is the Associate Director of Education and Training at The Center for Reconciliation and the founding instructor of the influential Black Studies program at DARE (Direct Action for Rights and Equality) where his teaching focused on using the Black Radical Tradition as a point of departure to design strategies for social change. With nearly two decades of engaged scholarship work in convening diverse learning communities, McWilliams has taught, lectured, and workshopped broadly at colleges, middle/high schools, organizations, and in faith communities. He received his BA in Africana Studies from Rhode Island College and is a graduate student in the Department of American Studies at Brown University.
